higher than 20GHz. The bandwidth of the new probe is up
to 40GHz. Litek’s PRB-50-P10-3AM is designed to meet
the PCB pad footprint and used to measure the PCB up to
40GHz.
To get the pure loss of the PCB traces based on the
assigned length, especially in the inner layer is very
difficult. Remove the via hole stub and probe effects is an
issue that Intel’s Delta-L is a good methodology used to
remove the effect of stub and probe effect. Sometimes,
PCB makers may make back drills to reduce the via stub
effect.
